thesis-finished

If you are curios why I've been so silent lately, here is the reason: I had to finish my thesis this monday. The rest of the week, I've been doing the most important things which didn't get done the last 2 weeks, like visits at doctor, my future job etc. pp. Oh, and my girlfriend, Kathrin, had birthday on monday as well! :)

Well, finally, I finished my thesis: this is the final abstract, thanks to Darren Salt for proofreading! Here it is:

Aspect-oriented programming (AOP) introduces new techniques for separating concerns into mo dules, which means a new kind of abstraction in the development of software. While the principle of AOP does not make statements about the time of its application, current weavers for the programming language C++ work exclusively at compilation time of the application. Using the aspect-oriented programming language AspectC++, this work attempts to develop a dynamic asp ect weaver with which the same aspect can be woven both statically and dynamically. Thereby the technical diffculties arediscussed, and the practicality is tested with existing applications.

The two application are the ACE library and Squid3. I'll continue to work on the dynamic weaver, so that you can expect a public release soon. rock!

If you speak german and are interested in reading it, you can download it here: http://siretart.tauware.de/diplomarbeit/diplomarbeit.pdf

The next days I'll try to catch up with my bugmail, and upgrade my workstation to ubuntu feisty. Then I'll start working on repackaging xine-lib 1.1.3 for ubuntu and debian. Stay tuned!
